I do hope everyone is doing well and thinking about the many things that we can all do within the MVMHC this coming year. With the January meeting now over, the club has many things to again look forward to doing. I want to ask each member to think of a couple of club events that you would like to attend or help out with this coming year. This month is always a big one for the club. The White Elephant Sale is one of our biggest fundraisers and we need everyone to participate.

   The club's horse sale will be coming up in March and I ask if you have a horse to sell, please get in touch with Brenda Whiteman at wccmorgan@yahoo.com as soon as possible.

   The club will again hold three horse shows this year and if you are not showing and would like to help out at the shows, please contact Diana Vannaken at tcreekfarm@yahoo.com for the May show, Brenda Whiteman at wccmorgan@yahoo.com for the July show, and Darlene Horner a t dswise@webtv.net for the September show.” There is more information on the shows within Tales. And if you have a horse and like to show, these are the ones to attend. We always have a good time!

    I would also like to encourage everyone to get their memberships and directory listings in as soon as possible. The deadline for the directory listings is February 1st. If you know of anyone with a Morgan that is not a member, invite them to do so. The directory is a great cheap way to let people know what horses you have and what you might have for sale. Many people, in addition to club members, see the directory.

I want to thank Kathy Mayes for taking the time to revamp the Illinois Morgan Futurity and for all her hard work over the years. There will now be alumni classes for those horses that have been shown in the past, but are not so young anymore. I think we will see more Morgan's showing at the State Fair. Again, there will be more information in Tales. I do hope that each of you will come to the events we have planned this year. If you have any suggestions or comments for the club, please let me know.
